BEPS Award
Min
PhD student, Min Jung Kim, received an outstanding student poster presentation award from BEPS.  Her poster title was "Development of soy protein-´┐Żbased biocomposites for adhesives". Dr. Susan Sun is Min's advisor.
Dr. Sun receives Lifetime Award
Sun solo Congratulations to Dr. Susan Sun for receiving the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award of the BioEnvironmental Polymer Society (BEPS). This award is given to an individual who has made outstanding contributions to scientific advancement, has demonstrated outstanding ability, and has made "phenomenal scholarly accomplishments" and has had "specific impact" in the fields of biopolymers, biobased materials, bioplastics and materials related to bioenergy systems. We couldn't agree more that BEPS has identified the right person for this award given Dr. Sun's proven and sustained track record as a pioneer in this important field!
Congratulations 
  • Dr. Hulya Dogan for successfully completing the recent Coffman Leadership Institute residence leadership development program for K-State faculty and staff. We appreciate Dr. Dogan's pursuit of professional development and her leadership in our department.  
  • Dr. Subramanyam "Subi" Bhadriraju for being selected to receive the 2012 Award of Excellence in Integrated Pest Management. This award is an international award given annually by the Entmological Society of America (ESA) Foundation to one scientist who has made outstanding contributions to integrated pest management with "special consideration ... to independence of thought and originality". More on Subi's award     
  • Dr. Girish Ganjyal who is the 2012 recipient of the AACC International Young Scientist Award. Dr. Ganjyal received his PhD from our department and serves as one of our adjunct faculty members. He is a Principal Scientist at PepsiCo and has contributed to a number of our graduate student research projects. For more information
